Nitrous Oxide Supplies

Post by Ivor »

Nitrous Oxide Supplies use a specialist courier to dispatch the refilled cylinders; they are ADR trained and know all of the associated dangers. We used to use TNT, but just like the discs they lost with 25 millions sets of details, they (occasionally) used to loose our cylinders on the return journey too! Which meant we kept having to give people free replacement cylinders, so hence the change to the new shipping company.

An 11lb (UK spec) bottle costs £63 to refill including courier charges (its £3 per lb and £30 in courier charges), if you don’t have a cylinder packing case, then once a cylinder is empty, just wrap it well and send it to us, we would then return your cylinder in a new packing case.

Hopefully Nitrous Oxide Supplies are going to have a stand at this years MOPAR Euro Nationals in July, if anyone wants to come and see us for a chat they’re more than welcome.

If any of the MMA members want to contact me before the event, please feel free to give them my contact details below.

Many thanks,
Mr Simon CL Barker

Here's the rub;
"An 11lb (UK spec) bottle"
At this time, all cylinders manufactured within the UK and Europe have TPED or PED approval meaning they ARE EU approved. NX, NOS and other IMPORTED bottles are NOT EU approved as they only conform to DOT standards, and should not be refilled within the EU.
U.S. DOT cylinders are allowed to be imported into the UK using Multilateral Agreement M125 which clearly states that they should be re-exported back to the states for re-filling.
The majority of us Nitrous Junkies use US spec bottles. Some companies refuse to refill these.
Will there be a price war at the Nats between Motor Shack (established company, always at the track, always good service) and Nitrous Oxide Supplies?

You say "should not be refilled within the EU" Kev, but is that the law?

DOT standard bottles are probably higher spec than the EU bottles anyway... :roll:
