Castrol GTX is good enough for the 528 Hemi in my Cuda.

- and in my Challenger 340 and Road Runner 493.

Very nice job there MCK. Any engine bay would be proud to have a lump that looks like that sitting in it. Keep up the good work. :thumbright:

Yes Pete would say that with a big grin on his face :) MCK did you have the motor run up on Petes dyno after it was built ?

Yes, please! :thumbright: Not far off starting our engine build now, so need to start staring at internals more. (Pardon the expression...!)

Bad luck with all those blocks, Mate. Why do you say the 383 might have been the one to use, on reflection? Not entirely happy with the 6th? :?

As far as I know it hasn't been on any dyno. I've never actually been up there! it was all collected and delivered by courier. Yeah I'm well happy with the 6th (440) block as it stands at the moment! My comment about the 383 block was more to do with the fact that I could have done a full build with that rather than have a 440 sourced and saved a couple of months and a few pounds.

I'll show you my internals as soon as I have photos :D

You think that is bad?

Someone came in here this morning wanting to borrow a spanner.
They asked for me.  :x

I can understand that! ;)

Look forward to seeing the internals soon. :thumbright:

OK, here's some scanned-in pictures the builder took while he was assembling the 440. Looks nice and clean.

The cam is a Comp Cams unit, seems to me to be more of a torque monster than out and out power @ high revs, which suits me fine. Also ties up with the use of the Performer 440 dual-plane manifold I guess, but what do I know?

Here it is before the motor went in. Note the rust behind the headlamp apertures (a future project reveals itself with every step  )
