charger charging prob

hi, car flattened battery after running with the lights on for about 6 miles last night, checked charge rate at battery, only getting 11.9 to 12.1 with lights on and 13 with lights off, this dosent seem enough? also i think car might have later[70 on] alternator fitted would this make a difference? also have electronic ignition but still have mechanical regulator fitted thanks for any help , trev

I've got some electronic regs coming from the states very shortly, they're in the original looking mechanical case so looks stock.
they're on our web site if you want to take a look.

will these look good, what i have found out today is that i have a later squreback alt fittted, it's a 50 amp job according to the bill of sale that came with the car, it has two field terminals and the output terminal, would this mate up whith what i have?

i've looked at the tech on the regs and it seems it doesn't matter whether it's one pin or two pin alternator, you just have to earth the second pin
