5 miles into a new run out after refitting the warmed over mota and there it is...that horrible mettalic knocking from the botom end that sounds terminal

. Fall and rises with rpm.
Strip off the valve covers to check if anything is bent out of shape whilst mentally writing out the ';For Sale, i'm over it ad' in my head.
then I got rational...i'll just check the flex plate bolts. sure enough, could make 2/3 turns on two of the bolts. Whipped 'em all out, applied the Loc-tite and refastened.
BINGO - noise gone. phew.
Moral?
Check everything twice even when you think you already have

You are a very lucky bloke. Hopefully you caught that in the nick of time.
I had the same thing last time I drove my car. Feint metallic knocking that rose and fell with revs. Turned into a big noisy banging - my big ends had gone. Look where that took me.

then Matt's mates turned up and said ello ello ello whats going on here then?
I replied I head this funny noise and my big hens gone

Even more surreal today.
Hooning around enjoying the sunshine, but couldnt understand why i thought I could smell hot oil, as if oil were leaking onto the exhausts.
Quick check and nope. All good.
Got home, looked under the hood properly and there thet were;
my missing sunnies

has slipped down onto the exhaust and spent 40 minutes plastic welding themselves to the down pipe.
Took five full minutes to chip the toxic remains off of the exhaust

i went on holiday and before i went i decided to hide my valuables in case of a break in,and i decided to hide my best DVDs in the oven(well they would not look in there would they?) when i got home the house was as i left it thankfully but been lazy i did not take the DVDs out of the oven,i then lived for a few weeks just using the Microwave and take away food and forgot about the DVDs

it came to the point when i wanted to use the Oven and i forgot it was full and turned it on to warm up.
And yes you guessed it!!i was in the living room 10 Min's later and i thought, what is that Plastic smell? went in the kitchen and they had all melted in the Oven

not only did i lose my best DVDs but also i had to throw out the Oven as no mater how hard i tried to clean it i could never get rid of the smell of Toxic Plastic when it was on, so i had to throw it out!
