A gallon of fuel in four minutes of idling?

That's a bit rich!
The pump don’t work coz the vandals took the handles.

It`s running fine but as soon as those butterflies are open just drinks it.

I just hope I have enough to get down the fire up lane, do my run and then return before I run out.

Glad I went for the tunnel ram and dual quads...much more economical!

Still can't beat yours for looks though Jon :thumbright:

Don't know much about Hilborn systems but I do know they use what they call pills to adjust fuel delivery, bit like nitrous jets I think. I wouldn't expect it to be exactly economical, but that sounds crazy, can you not lean it off some?

Yep

How it works is fuel is delivered to the 8 into 1 connector block by the pump at a fixed velocity. You then set the butterfly valves up by adjusting all the linkages so that all the cylinders are doing the same duty. Any unused fuel is then sent back to the tank via a return line with a restrictor in it ( fuel pill ). Hilborn ( as far as I know ?? ) only do a restrictor for petrol and a different one for alcohol. I`m sure there are available some after market different sized restrictors for altitudes / different states of tune.... or you could get into drilling or soldering the orifice yourself.

I was conscious with this not to have too much fuel being delivered and washing down the bores .... this isn`t the case so it`s probably just a case of getting a couple of passes on it and then pull the plugs and recheck the oil has not got any fuel in it. I`m happy that it is there or there abouts but will find out when I take it to Shakey. [-o<

Hilborn technical service is about as good as British Gas customer service !

Fuel pill is the brass fitting on the return line on the LEFT. With the butterfly linkage shut most fuel is returned to tank via this line with just enough going to injectors.

As linkage opens more fuel flows to injectors on the RIGHT with fuel pill determining a minimum flow rate to the tank.

I think ?

No scope for tuning individual cylinders then...it's the "throw fuel at it" philosophy...which is nice.

Don`t forget you can adjust the " air " quantity at each cylinder by adjusting individual butterflies.
You also get adjustment on all the linkage arms.

Sounds pretty cool - can't wait to see it.

I'd love to know if is actually makes more power than a good 4bbl - mind you it wins hands down on the "wow-factor"

Definately enjoying playing with this.

Don`t forget I have to prime all stacks with raw fuel prior to start up too.
