My 340 Rebuild!
I'm sure some of you know that Bacca is rebuilding my 340 for me. Well it was in a right sorry state when he got it, almost to the point of not saving. But we desided to carry on even though it would have been cheaper starting again with a 360!
Well, he has sent me some piccies of the rebuild so far and it looks amazing! He's put some amount of work into this and I'm really looking forward to it being finnished.

Sorry, i'll no make a habit of it!Ivor wrote:Blimey Trig, a Mopar related post! Are you alright?
Cheers, I'm not sure why he chose that Cam but I think it was so it would be drivable on the Street? I could ofcourse be wrong about the Cam though. I'm Sure Bacca will confirm at some point.Ivor wrote:That's coming along nicely, why the standard 3450 cam with the Eddy heads? That's going to breath better than a standard iron headed motor, shame not to benefit from that, I would have thought?
Thanks for the Cam link Martin, I'll have a look-see!

Yip the 8th and last piston heading home. They are 10.5-1 Forged pistons 30th over, but have been skimmed to work with the Eddie Heads. The Block has also been Decked. One side was 26th out over the other!
Am I right in thinking that the Ally Heads drop the Comp ration down by a point? I'll have to ask Bacca what he believes the new Comp will be with all the work done and what BHp and Torque he expects it to make.

Oh, ok. And does C.P have any relationship with C.R. What advantages or disadvantages does the Ally heads make when they drop the C.P down a point?

Compression ratio simplified - Is a ratio of the volume of the cylinder bore. The amount of volume in the bore when the piston is at the Bottom of its stroke v the amount of volume in the bore when the piston is at the Top of its stroke
Imagine the volume was 800cc a@ BDC & 80cc @ TDC = 8:1
Cylinder pressure is what the engine actually sees, pressure is affected by numerous factors - Cylinder Heads, Cam, Carb, fuel, etc including comp ratio, all of these all combined determine comp pressure.
