No, got back yesterday Andy. Small world indeed!

Loved Copper - very well organised and laid out. We didn't bother with Vail, Keystone and Breckenridge this time - $100 a day? Are you kidding me?

Loveland and Arapahoe Basin are well worth a day each - spectacular scenery, uncrowded and affordable.

For a taste of what skiing used to be like, drive down the 9 to Ski Cooper, near Leadville. Small but friendly, great food, and cheap! And 2400 acres of snowcat skiing if you're so inclined. A hidden gem.

Have fun!

Spotted this ol' thing on the way back to Denver airport, driven by an old boy puffing on a pipe. It was 19F at the time.

Cool! I wish I'd thought of that - I have GPS on my smart phone. Don't think I went that fast though!

That sounds like a pretty good deal on the ski pass. We always buy an "E-book" from King Soopers, which has 2 for 1 coupons for Copper and Winter Park. We also found 2 for 1 coupons for Ski Cooper, which worked out at $21 each for a day!

I agree Vail is an awesome mountain - not so keen on the faux Alpine village though.

This was my favourite town: Leadville, the highest incorporated city in the USA, at 10430'. Not all cutesied up for the tourists, like Breckenridge.

Also, a pic of our condo in Wildernest, above Silverthorne, and our Jeep almost invisible in a white-out in Frisco.
