mitsibushi gt 3000 oil?

Guys, our receptionist drives a 1999 gt3000 twin turbo nutter car. She uses an expensive engine oil but is looking for a cheaper alternative. Looked at Halfords and they recommend 15/40 oil but on other GT sites they recommend 5w/30. Any ideas?? Thanks, Gerry

Tell her not to skimp and put the recommended good oil in it not cheap oil of the same grade, its cheaper than an engine rebuild.

I spent a lot of time researching this question for my TurboBuick. Responses ranged from Guy's opinion (expensive) to more middle range price oils. The only universal agreement was to use ZDDP to protec the cam etc..
Those Buick guys will argue like pedants on most everything,but there really was no consenus on which oil is best.
Just change it every 3, 000 miles or less (i do 1500 and change).
Best try a Jap specialist forum.

TT GTO 3000 not as Fast as they should be....bought my Skyline after driving 3 of what i thought would demolish the Skyline easily from what id heard
No way they dont even come close,
and they over heat the Turbos just for fun

Yup remember when i had my 2 that the 3000/GTO had a rep throughout the whole scene for emptying bank accounts!
