Great weekend at the Nats. Managed to get 4 runs in with a new PB on each run. The wind, rain and fire up lane wait put a halt to any further runs on Sat. Never really got it all together on the 1/4 and felt the car had a bit more in it as the car stands, but to drop 1.6 seconds from last year is a big step forward. Happy man!

Rear end feels so much better taking off from the tree!

Still have lots left on the table with the car, but need to sort the issues.

All the below times are in D. I cant manual shift at the mo due to slippage in the trans. The trans is also shifting at below 3.5k through all 3 gears, so doubt im getting the secondarys open.
Sure i have a sticky lifter on 2 and have a car that is missing at around 4k rpm.

Saying all that.......250 miles and 1/4 mile fun without a hiccup!

So have a list for the next 12 months to go at, prior to the next outing! :D

Great to see you Dave👍

The Dart has a really nice look to it and I’m sure like you say there’s a lot more to come. Unfortunately now I am addicted too.

Update time:

The Dart has taken a back seat for the majority of the last 8 months due to various things.
I knew after last years NATS that the gearbox needed doing, but couldnt get the enthusiasm to get it sorted.

About 2 months back i took the car out for its first yearly run, and the slipping was now present in D under hard acceleration. So no point in me using it for any form of racing.

Cue lots of research and the Credit Card.

Then i do what most do and think......i want a bit more.

I've always tried to update the Dart with what i want the end goal to be = road going race car.
The 'Do it once and do it right' moto being my expensive thought process.

So this arrived finally this week: CRT Pro Street manual reverse manual valve body and billet alli low/reverse servo:

Thing of beauty with having parts CNC machined and water jet cut.

Only downside is that the TF2 kit and Lokar setup are now surplus. So these will be for sale soon.

To get the car sorted before the Nats/end of 2019 i've also had to realise my limitations with the project.

So some of the parts i've collected over the last few years will have to go to fund the trans rebuild. These will also be for sale soon. :(

Well done Dave , all the right bits.
You are doing better than me, My slipping gearbox has been on the bench for 3 years this Christmas. I just haven't got to starting it yet.

Good to see you moving forwards with the car, mate.
Does this mean you're ditching the column shifter all together now? Will be intesting to see what you come up with if that's the case.

Let me know what bits and pieces you're getting rid of - our cars are so similar in o.e spec' that the road you had planned on taking might be the same path as I'm on?

It'll be back out on track soon and there will be plenty more cool photo's like the one above soon enough. :thumbright:

Very nice stuff. I'd be interested in that TF2 kit, been after one for a while now.
