Makes a lot of sense I guess these days, although never my thing, those guys back in the 80's like John Tebbut raced for virtually nothing with their near Stock motors.

Only a measly 500hp from an iron headed 10:5:1 440 like I had would run you into the low 9's in a well built 2000lb car.

with 4.10 gears, 31.5 slicks

60 Foot E.T. : 1.29
1/8 Mile E.T. : 5.83
1/8 Mile Trap Speed : 116.50
1/4 Mile E.T. : 9.25
1/4 Mile Trap Speed : 145
1/4 Mile Trap RPM : 6,343!!!

Fast enough?
