4130 is the only recognised high strength steel @ .083" and desending with OD. so main hoop in 4130 would be around 2.1mm in 4130.
all ms cds cages have to be 3mm on every tube no matter what the OD.
Drag Racing specs are there for a reason and usually from unfortunate lessons learnt in the past by others.
And sometimes its safer not to have one, than to have one that dosent comply with regs and could cause more harm than good.
Your work is looking very good though looks clean and neat but as you said dont comply with anything.
