Congratulations, Mate. Great news. The world needs another nutter to carry on his Dads work. :D :thumbright: 8-)

Blue wrote: Tue May 03, 22 9:46 am I'm sure you've already taken it into account but won't exiting the spent hot air underneath cause lift or does it just assist with scavenging?

You are correct

Most race cars can tunnel and trap the air under the car to improve stability, and lots of games can be played with this air.

The bike with its vast rear tyre, all the air under the motorcycle hits the wall of the tyre and increases drag, also as it has two wheels so it can lean..... All of which has very little documentation or professional studies conducted.

We are playing with the idea of veins under the bike to deflect this air around the tyre, but it's mainly all about drag reduction, not ground effects.

There were some slight cooling gains in underfloor suction but an increase in the overall Vehicle drag coefficient.

We have decided to vent the radiators out the top of the bike next to my hips and go for a slightly larger radiator. This simulation seems to give us the lowest drag Coefficient, which is now my focus.

From a lift or downforce perspective, my goal is zero lift and zero downforce from start to finish.

We have all seen what happens when you go 250+ with a massive front spoiler and drive the tyres into the ground...

The trick is to be on the edge of drag coefficient but make sure it doesn't fly which has been a real challenge when you add pitch and roll into the mix

The reason the rads are tilted downward which ultimately is a compromise is to comply with FIM International regulations..

Yet fit in the large core size needed.

The front end is now fully designed in CAD. My next issue is manufacturing:?

The nose Cone is big, and CNC mould making in this size is not cheap

I know the original Jade warrior bike found a rock band to fund the bodywork ..

Does anyone know a rock band??

Hi Will

Let me know if 3-d printing might be a solution for the mould. A couple of friends of mine own and run a very large 3-d printer.

Thanks, I will let you know. I think the issue is the temps needed for carbon layup vs PLA.

I will keep you updated. Thank you very much
