My 2014 Camaro SS

Post by Adam »

Well, it's been mine for the last 10 days. The rental company get it back tomorrow. Just 2 weeks old when I got it, and 400 miles on the clock. Done over 1000 miles in it, and I'm pretty impressed with it. 6.2 litres, 405 hp (430 in the manual version).

All the toys including a telly and a toaster on the bonnet. Didn't feel as lively as my Mustang until I discovered the competition mode, which turns all the nanny controls off. Even more fun with the paddle shifters. Only about 20mpg, but then I've been driving it like I stole it.

I thought you'd gone and traded your Muzzy in  Any such thoughts after these last 10 days?

Must admit Rob, it had crossed my mind. The Camaro is superior to my Mustang in almost every way. But its not fair to compare a 2014 Camaro with a 2007 Mustang. The current Mustang GT is also much better than mine.

One big advantage is that you can walk into selected Vauxhall dealers, including the one that's a quarter mile from where I live, and buy a new SS for £35k. It appeals to me to have a UK warranty, and not continually worry about the electrical/computer gremlins that have plagued my Mustang, due to the chimps that did my SVA conversion.

But my Mustang sounds better. And gets better gas mileage.

Do like the external looks of the Camaro, just never been a huge fan of the interior.......Have to say that i really like that colour on the modern one!

Be interesting to drive the 2014 Muzzy back to back with this!

Love the mean looking Camaro to the rather plain looking Chally
Also the Mustang Super Snake is more appealing
so the unfortunately the Chally would be last
but then there is always the Viper :D

but like Pete unless my numbers come up its just a dream

Adam also expected to see massive DONUT tyre marks in that picture .....completely empty car park !!!!

Gary, we rented it in on vacation in North Carolina and Tennessee. I doubt that Budget will rent you one in the UK. Well not for $45 a day.

I am sure it is down to Crash test performance but all modern "Muscle car" Yanks seem to have windows like Gun Ports.

Is glass THAT expensive in the 'States or have they only just learned how to make the stuff....

I would like to actually be able to see out of the car I am driving........

Tis true Pete. Visibility was appalling. Massive blind spots on the rear quarters.

Looks mean though.
