Mechanical injection help?

Post by paolo_mangusta »

about ready to admit defeat trying to get the Crower alky injection set up on my slingshot to run consistently - anyone got any experience of running these or knows anyone this side of the pond who can help please? have nozzles and pills from alkydigger as the starting point, and it's gone a treat a couple of times, but mostly I can't get it to start at all.

Any help appreciated really, Hot Rod drags might be my last opportunity this year

Cheers

Jon Connolly got one working a few years ago. He might be able to throw you some tips.

Hi Paolo

Need a bit more info

Have you had it running here in UK and at UK track in its current form ?

Or did you buy the kit and can`t get it to run ?

Was the kit jetted for petrol or alky ??

Have you got all the jets in ? should be a total of 9 - one goes in return line from metering block

If I was you I would see if it will run on petrol first and make sure there is a good return line to tank, good vented tank and hold the tank higher than the pump inlet.

Got some pics of the set up so we can see ???

Have you checked out dave koehler's website? Sesrch for nitrousmaster, he's a really helpful& knowledgeable bloke. In the UK try Jeff Bull.

Cheers - sorry it looked like I posted and ran, work just got a bit busy this week

The set up is a second hand manifold and then I bought all the rest of the bits from alky digger in the states to complete it, following his recommendations for nozzle and pill sizes. It's run up in the workshop a couple of times, once running and revving nicely (awesome throttle response), but it's completely inconsistent - some days I can spend a whole Sunday just trying to start it.

It's on a 383 Ch*vy running methanol. I will try to get some pics next time I'm down there. Have been too busy to even think about sorting it for HRDs so it looks like it's either going to be a winter project or find itself on eBay :D
