15 x 10 steels?

Post by MilesnMiles »

Thinking if getting some 15 x 10 steeliness for my Roadrunner. Any thoughts on the weight? Seem damn heavy, but does that matter as unsprung weight?

Weight?
Unsprung is not good.

Are you sure you can get 10's on the car without in-boarding the springs?
Do you really need 10's with a 340??

I would have thought 8"s would have been fine......

I'd prefer 8" but as I can't sell my brand new 295 tryres it seems like 10" is the only option. They will fit, just I reckon.
Just seems like a huge chunk of metal for that little 340 to drag around :?

10's should fit but you will need 5.5 Backspace rims.

Why not just hang on to the tyres and take them to the swap meet next year or give them to someone to take on your behalf or the Nats? Im sure you will off load them there.

I could do Carl, its just that by selling the 295 tyres I could fund the purchase of a pair of smaller tyres to fit 8" rims.
Having tried tyres that are too big for the rims I fully intend to get the correct pairing next time. I did squeeze the 295s onto 8" rims but was decidedly unimpressed with the cornering which bordered on dangerous
Did a total of 28 miles and took them off.

Get some plain centrelines in a 10" Miles and paint or powder coat them to look like steelies.... less unsprung is much better as has been said :thumbright:

Hi Steve, yes I had similar thoughts and that may be the solution in the end.
