Still contemplating wheels and tyres. Much as I like the look of the old school I'm already bored of squealing around corners like Daisy Duke.
I'd appreciate any feedback on those of you running these cars on 17" and low profiles etc
Only interested in drive quality and handling.
Not interested in 'That's gay/wrong/ Ma Mopar turn in her grave 'etc,, comments

The single biggest improvement you can make to grip and handling will always come from large dia alloy wheels and low profile rubber.
If you want lateral grip in bucket loads you need wide, modern rubber, just trick suspension parts won't hack it without a decent tyre compound, sidewall stiffness and tread width

Me mate who has the tyre shop always tells me I should get some chrome big wheels for the Coronet. Probably carry it well. However not my thing.
Agree with Ade it would greatly benefit handling etc

Mossy, if I go this way it will be subtle. Maybe black Torque Thrusts in 17", certainly no bling/chrome for me

The only problem is you will need side bolsters in your seats , cause the car will stick so much better, stock seats will leave you hanging

Drew, I already have buckets seats. Contemporary ones that really do hold yer ass in place

Got some 17 inch Polished torque thrusts and mixed front to rear widths and profiles for proper stance and housing filling.

They made my Cuda feel like a different car ...flatter in the corners at speed, more grip and road feel/ handling was super....not on the car at present but I liked the way it drove with them on.

Cheers Steve, car looks nice in those pics. Reckon I'll start counting the pennies. I drive my car most dry days and Cornwall has lots of bends.
Be nice to get round them

I borrowed some 15 x 7 in wheels from a mate (put the 17s on the cuda for fitment purposes )and have driven on them for quite a while now.they are kind of mushy and the side wall seems to flex more, even with added air pressure,cant add to much or the tires wont stick

and I gotta say I really want the 17s back on the car , to me not just the lower profile makes the car handle but the larger wheel ,although heavier due the the extra mass , the car just seems to respond better with the heavier wheels,it seems better supported , so yea save up and get them,

it will be money well spent , for those curvy roads

Cost was 1480 @ North Hants Tyres all in balkanced fitted and various tyres tried....probably a few bob more now though.

Thanks chaps, good advice. Current £ to $ rate is really good so I will probably buy from Summit and source tyres via ebay. Reckon I can do it for about one Large
