Yeah, 'cos that is real Rookie material...

We could always adopt a " you bend it, you buy it" Policy or you could rent it like Grumpy does....

33 x 14.5 x 15 Slicks.
1600lbs with driver. Maybe a bit lighter....had it weighed with an Iron BBC...
850 - 900bhp.
Turbo 400.
3 speed with Air Shift.
Transbrake.

Will probably run 8.50.....if I can.... ;)

At 800hp =

60 Foot E.T. : 1.02
1/8 Mile E.T. : 4.63
1/8 Mile Trap Speed : 146.78
1/4 Mile E.T. : 7.34
1/4 Mile Trap Speed : 183
1/4 Mile Trap RPM : 7,274

You may not get to a 7.3 but I think your gonna go quicker than 8.50!!

Yes Pete, I would ease into it slowly, everything will happen very fast mate and quite violently, maybe some RWYB practicing is in order before you do your observed runs.

Good luck with it.

By the way, a 550hp warmed over LS6 motor should go 8.50's!

Well according to site the more door should run a 14.24 @ 94mph !!!

I think that's a bit optimistic don't you !

I would just like to add the fact that this Calc, and most others, assumes you are running Slicks, and your car can Hook!...the figures given will then be representative of what your car should do, or is capable of dependent on the figures you have inputed.

Les. Sorry if my post came across that I was indicating the calculations to be wrong. I don't know all the info required on my car to get an accurate result.
Just having a bit of a play with numbers ! ( also couldn't add in the 2:76 gearing !!!)

Don't apologise mate, its only a tool, not an absolute, just trying to explain how it really works.....whats your figures....approx weight, engine?...mods?.....we'll assume your gonna use 28" slicks and see what we come up with.
http://www.wallaceracing.com/accel-calc.php

Only prob here is that cos of your high gears 2.76 and assuming your power band will be from around 1500>5000?..(I don't know what set up you have)....you will probably not use 3rd gear before the finish with a 28" tyre, or you may just use it before the line, in which case your revs will fall of quite dramatically, and so will your hp with a heavy car so the calc results will not be representative, as its really more for cars with race type converters and good gears, or enough hp to pull a high gear ratio/weight combo so your shift points will be say 6000rpm in 1st>2nd>3rd as you cross the line keeping you in your max power band, then it will give you a good idea of what your car should do on a good day.

My old '69 Cuda was 3000lb, input of 595hp, 32" slicks and 4.88 gear =

60 Foot E.T. : 1.39
1/8 Mile E.T. : 6.30
1/8 Mile Trap Speed : 107.85
1/4 Mile E.T. : 9.99
1/4 Mile Trap Speed : 134
1/4 Mile Trap RPM : 6,879

_______

If you change the hp figure to 600hp =

60 Foot E.T. : 1.38
1/8 Mile E.T. : 6.28
1/8 Mile Trap Speed : 108.15
1/4 Mile E.T. : 9.96
1/4 Mile Trap Speed : 135
1/4 Mile Trap RPM : 6,899

It actually ran 9.96 at 133.90mph at 7200rpm.

Cheers Les.
Car is 3358 lbs curb weight.
Stock power (2bbl) is 230 hp. So mine is a 318 Holley 650 vac sec. Wieand intake. Hedman headers and those in the know reckon it has a cam upgrade ?
727 box with shift kit etc. 8 3/4 sure grip.
I'm planning to change gearing to around 3:55 ish so would be interesting to see the difference that would make ?
No idea on actual hp.
Thanks. Gary :thumbright:

Here's a reality check for all you 440 magnum guys with 375 hp factory rating.
Hypothetical et, mph and approx weight.

14.00 = 274 flywheel hp
95 mph = 260 hp
3800#

Mick

ok Gary, so with total weight of say 3500lbs??......around 250hp? with your mods, and 3.55 gears, 8x26" slicks =

60 Foot E.T. : 1.95
1/8 Mile E.T. : 8.86
1/8 Mile Trap Speed : 76.74
1/4 Mile E.T. : 14.04
1/4 Mile Trap Speed : 95
1/4 Mile Trap RPM : 4,382

This may be possible????? if it doesn't bog on the line with slicks, and as a best, with everything working spot on, where you shift of course will have some effect, I would've thought no more than 4800 rpm as I doubt if it would make much more power above that?...it does look a bit optimistic to me tbh, maybe a set of Drag Radials or low pressure street tyres around 24>26" tall would work better in actual fact where you may get a little slip once warmed to get the best out of it......but this is a case of try it and see with different combo's if you wanted to find its best.

Thanks Les.
Gives me something to work on. I'll have to get it on the 1/4 and see how it does. Then try calcs again :thumbright:

Mick. Never weighed car just got most of the stats off line.
I had in mind a 16 sec ET for mine but we shall see.
I know its going to feel very slow compared to the bikes I've run !!!!
Should be fun though. :thumbright:
