Was into this and considering it....but......if you read it runs 6.00 1/8ths which is 9.50's and 1.30 60ft's with 5.13 gears!!, even at low shift points in 2500lbs all in....that shoud be well in the 1.18 60's and 8's with that motor....something not right with that and at 30k+..getting it to do what it should.....na....like the paint scheme though!

The sump pan is held in with studs and nuts not bolts

Is there an advantage to this

Lovely car apart from the silly thing on the bonnet

better clamping I guess....and yes wasn't keen on the bulge myself buy that was a minor obstacle...the numbers were not there........also didn't do anything for me launching on that run either..

That should run 8.50's on motor and 7's with sniff on C16, now that would be a first for a Cuda over here me thinks.

My sump is held on with studs and nuts, I only did it because Dave Wilsons TMD pan was the same

Studs make it quicker and easier to put the pan up, same with valve covers, which is why I like to use them, no other reason I can think of in that application.

Very nice.
Seems to have all the right bits, wonder why it's not performing as it should??

Well a 605 with sheet intake and 2 Dommies would be making in the order of 1150hp, so take off some and say 1000hp for a single 4150 carb from the looks of it, at 2500lbs in actual fact should be running at best..

60 Foot E.T. : 1.10
1/8 Mile E.T. : 4.99
1/8 Mile Trap Speed : 136.26
1/4 Mile E.T. : 7.91
1/4 Mile Trap Speed : 169
1/4 Mile Trap RPM : 8,860

So something is very wrong there or he's frightened to nail it, whatever, I don't get it......I think he's strangling that motor with that carb perhaps and it just ain't making no hp....who knows.....bit of a waste really.

Maybe I should call him and ask him why it runs so crap

you sure would not turn that trap rpms with that stroke crank ,rod length etc les 7,000 max
you figures are not to far off though depends on its weight
stripped out
A body done carefully and still look like a car 2,550.00 lb
B body done carefully and still look like a car 2,75.00 lb
you wont get them much lighter unless they are tube car etc,

Yes Steve, would be a nice comeback I guess but it would only be to impress myself to see if I've still got it?

Would fit nicely into Super pro- ET so I could get it running flat out and maybe that magic 7, or Super-Comp 8.90, or even Pro-ET, but that would be back peddling once sorted to run 9.0's.....who knows, but its certainly not a cheap way to start again, 7.50 tag upgrade, rods, g/box (don't like PG's)...looking at another poss 10>15k to get it ready to go if I don't find any bad stuff, so some serious thought has to go into it......would have to go see my old mate Mr. Rawlings for a loan

Whats the news with your Cuda then Steve, stroker?....Hemi?...and how are you doin these days.

Yeah must admit 5.13 gears with 1000hp? is silly, maybe he built it for the 1/8th only......would've though 4.10's would be more the way to go with that weight and hp for the 1/4

with 4.10 gears/33's/2500lbs total, his figures (2360 w/o driver)

60 Foot E.T. : 1.10
1/8 Mile E.T. : 4.99
1/8 Mile Trap Speed : 136.26
1/4 Mile E.T. : 7.91
1/4 Mile Trap Speed : 169
1/4 Mile Trap RPM : 7,081
Wallace Calc

___________

Vehicle Weight (in pounds): 2500
Vehicle Horsepower: 900 (gotta be at least that even with a crap carb)
RPM through lights: 6650
Tire Diameter (Height) in Inches: 33

1/8 Mile ET: 5.23
1/8 Mile Top End Speed: 127.25
Ideal Ratio: 5.13

That looks more like whats going on, but its still Crap!!
