Hi Dave, what is the reg?Dave wrote:I will try and get some decent scans of my old Charger. Which is dead.
I can't see it on your list?
If it was a VJ, I've not put them up yet (will do so soon).

I've put up all the cars that I have info on. Links to the pictures are via the photobucket account I put in the opening post, as some cars have loads (the "dead" VG VIP has about 30 for example!)
If anyone has any pictures or info on cars, I'd look forward to hearing it.
Some of the older threads on here have lost their pictures, and people talk about a car, but it is no longer there. That's why for example I've about 15 cars with a reg number but no picture.
So, all help appreciated.

To cut a long story short... I was conned out of itCLPete wrote:I would, if you have them.db wrote:I used to have a '72 VH Charger 770 - CHP590K.
Any sign of it still existing?
I've a couple of pics of it if you'd like?
Hate to say it, but the car appears to be a long time dead (last time it was taxed seems to be 1993). Best you could hope for is it is in a shed someplace - how did it leave you?

The thief supposedly took it to a repair shop in the Stoke area for repair work (before he paid me for the car) and conned them too.
Last I heard, they sold it to recoup their losses. That wouldn't have been all that long before it 'died'.
Are registered keepers details available on line? It would be interesting to know who it went to last.
This is a great record Pete, thanks!

I don't think that they are (well, available to us at least - suspect some privacy laws would stop that unless you were one of these firms that can pay the DVLA £2 to access the records).db wrote:[ ... Updated the photos - thanks very much for them.

That sill looked a little ... "tired" ... there in the pictures!

Weirdly, when I bought the car it had been recently painted but they left that little rectangle unpainted to show that the sill was galvanized
A bit of info about the pics. I'll add dates when I get chance to look them up-
1. At Santa Pod, not long after I'd bought it, with knackered springs.
2. Grille missing (I never did find one)
3. Outside my house
4. My house again, suspension fixed.
5. New tyres and a wash!
6. At my wedding. Drivers door stuck so I had to climb out the other side Brakes were seizing on so I had to beat the calipers with a hammer every few miles. Such a romantic day
7. New reg plate. Stainless trims screwed to door tops with weather strips attached. The door tops had rotted and I'd not learned to weld yet!

PS there is a 2 door VG on the channel Islands
it has no registration becasue it can't be registered due to no import papers. to be registed in the CI it would need to come to the UK and be registred here first, because it came in via here in the first place, and it can't be registered here beacause there is no paperwork
owned by a chap who was a member called cudaKeith
believe he owns a number of US cars one of which was / is a plymouth cuda.
number of the CI guys used to come over to the NATS.
there is another VG with a dodge dart front that regularly comes, as in at least twcie in the last 3 years, to garys picnic and the HRDrags. think it is metallic purple...you wouldn't pick it out as aussie as it looks like a 68 dart now.

The Greater Knapweed near the Mugwort by the Buckthorn tree is dying
Interesting one this one.
This car has a little bit of recent history.
It was on ebay where it was being sold for offers around £2950 as part of a small collection being off-loaded.
It then disappeared, and almost straight away came back on for offers around £2000 as a “project” car taken in “part-exchange”. The advert detailed a fault with the water pump which meant it could not be driven far.
Fast forward to now, and it is a different colour (recent respray – except the engine bay, which remains black & white).
Looks neat, but those rust repairs would have needed some skills. Interesting that the new advert mentions the door bottoms – wonder if they were replaced? The one image does look crisp. Note that the water pump has been replaced, so someone knew what they were doing with it.
I’d be interested to see “as being restored” images I think if I was buying this.
Looking Sharp in 2003:
Here it is in 2013 on ebay the first time:
Looking a little rough …
See the rust in the wheel arch & end of sill:
Possible Chamber rust?:
And now on ebay:
Unchanged engine bay (can’t see the chambers in this image):
Ebay advert:
He's clearly done some work on it, would have been interesting to see what rust repair work was needed & done.
Overall, it will be interesting to see what it sells for. Already £3,600 (as of 21:13 on 10.02.2014).
Edited to add:
It looks alot like this one now!
