i love this video, mainly as i have a piece of the bell housing off this car sitting on my shelf.

im the guy behind it in the black top, was with Anna at the time, she even got the pictures of it as it blew. i watched everything that happened.

hes in 3rd when he started..hence the wheels span a bit and stopped. (you can see him change gear as well in the cab.)

by now hes boiled the clutch..so into first he went..and the clutch being so damn hot just slipped away...so what does he do instead? stop despite everyone telling him too?

oh no..he presses on and off the clutch untill it exploded out of the car.

DOH!

if you notice, there is a an exhaust missing out of the side too, and its all ripped to bits, this was done by trying to do dougghnuts in the field if i remember? only hitting a clump of mud. and tore it off

idiot to the highest degree

Yeah he got it a bit wrong, god knows I've done some stupid stuff in my time in a cars...

That said, he did seem a bit of a show off! His mate had his elbow out of the window also :D. I thought you can only do that in a mopar and look cool regardless 8-)

That was Black Mass Racing, from Plymouth if memory serves. They used to race a Chrysler or Plymouth C-body (70 Newport, maybe?) before that Marina. So not the best choice of race cars, but always good for a laff

'Boy'? That would have been Bob Batten, prob in his mid-to-late 30s?
