While I've got the door cards off to change the catch, thought I'd look into why the windows rattle so much.
I've fitted new fuzzies both sides of the glass and also the 'windlace' weatherstrip that goes all around the door opening. But I've noticed that at the trailing edge of the door, there's a lot of play between the glass support and the channel it runs up & down in.
Should there be something inside the channel? I think it might be called 'Run Channel weatherstrip' but as far as I can see it would guide the steel glass support, and not the glass itself.
if there's anything missing I'd like to fit it before I put the panel back on.

Not factory but could you not run some felt down the groove, should help cushion any vibration?

Of course that will depend on how tight the glass sits within the groove!

Dunno how you'd get anything in there - I presume that channel is fixed in position inside the door?
If there was something that pushed or clipped in, it might be easy enough but trying to get a piece of felt or something 'floppy' in there and fixed into position could be a pain...

You can get window channel felt kits,try the likes of Dantes etc.

You might also try taking everything out cleaning it really well with thinners and then slicon remover then spray glue then fabric tape for wiring looms.

3m is the one. The cheap stuff you can rip by hand. 3m you could tow a car with

Looks the same as Triumoh Herald style, which is a metal channel lined with felt stuff, same material as the window fuzzies. The stuff wears away in the end.
You can buy lengths of it for Triumphs and you just have to carefully fix the brackets to the new channels, with rivets or tiny bit of weld whilst keeping the felt wet

Woolies will probably have a suitable felt lined rubber channel profile to fit that. Sorry can't do the link thing here at work...

Thanks chaps, I did manage to 'find' some low friction nylon (UHMWPE?) channel we use at work. Seems to fit ok with a couple of c'sk M3 screws, but the window is a tad tight to wind up/down. Even with some white lithium spray.
I might see if it'll loosen up / wear in.

I the felt would likely work better but I'd need to check the widths as it's not the glass that is guided, it's the metal glass support.

I have a roll of the proper mohair tape from a glass company.
The original is a shapes rubber part coated in the mohair and held in place by a metal spike at the bottom of the channel
