Odd question but if a car is running a 6 sec @ 112 1/8th what time will it run in the quarter? ........there again it's probably runnin 5.10 gears, but I'd fit a 4.10 gear if that where the case. ..........

As you have rightly indicated you cannot really tell as it will run right out of revs.

What you really need is the rough BHP it makes and its weight; gives you much more to work with.....you can then substitute Tyre Heights and gear choices in the programmes that predict ET's and MPH..........

Just elaborate on what Blue said.....an optimum chassied car weighing 3000lbs all in>32" tall slicks>4.56 gears>690hp should run.....

60 Foot E.T. : 1.32
1/8 Mile E.T. : 6.00
1/8 Mile Trap Speed : 113.37
1/4 Mile E.T. : 9.50
1/4 Mile Trap Speed : 141
1/4 Mile Trap RPM : 6,757

So if I fit 4.50s with 700hp and a lighter car I should do the same numbers right :?

Posted: Sun Dec 14, 14 8:41 pm
by Les Szabo
2800lbs at the line, 32" tyre, 700hp, 4.50 gear
60 Foot E.T. : 1.29
1/8 Mile E.T. : 5.83
1/8 Mile Trap Speed : 116.50
1/4 Mile E.T. : 9.25
1/4 Mile Trap Speed : 145
1/4 Mile Trap RPM : 6853+slip

These are optimum figures not an absolute.
