Left Hand Thread nuts!!

Has anyone ever seen or come across a car with 3 wheels with standard Right Hand thread wheel nuts and one wheel with left hand thread nuts!!!!!!!!!


Strange but I found that one wheel on my car has this, and I managed to sheer one off when trying to undo it.

I have steel wheels with Acorn standard wheel nuts.

Hi Ali, a lot of Mopars came with l/h thread on one side of the car, I'd guess that one wheel set has been changed already. Just change the remaining wheel studs it will make life easier in the future. .
You can't have too much power, only a lack of traction!

as said, originally, up to the early 70’s I think, they had lh thread stud’s/nuts on the lh side of the car, rh thread stud’s/nuts on the rh side of the car, my Charger is still like this

Mine were already RHT but Jim had one shear off when he was doing the brake lines.....

Luckily id already got replacements.

Mine are Doorman (Rockauto). They are cheap to buy, so worth doing IMO! :thumbright:

Most yanks replace all the studs with rh threads, and i too had a car with 4 lh and one rh, and yes I boogered it up, and made a nice mess when I was done, I fought that thing for the whole day.

Get the doormans and change em out ;)

So it was standard on the Mopars (well I never knew that)

It is the front wheel, driver side, so left side, the back on the same side has RH nuts.

Okay time to get the only one changed to RH, same as the others.

Mu Fury was the same.... I painted info on the wheel under the hubcaps. Cos there are a lot of idiots out there in the Wheel and tire world.

Took it in for a safety, and they informed me one of my drums was warped. You can guess why!
I am keeping this Mopar....... SOLD!

pre-'70 the LHS (Drivers side) front and rear had LH wheel nuts..........

Pre '73 on A bodies, very common to find a broken stud on a car that hasn't had the original LH studs swapped out as they are only 7/16".

It's not common but yes, I've come across it on the heavy stuff and vans as well, can't remember which ones though....

sombody swapped in an updated half shaft or started on the left rear broke it updated it and left the front alone

They must think others that will work on the car in the future , will have x ray( vision(and flying cars), and see that front is different
