I spoke to Jon Connolly recently as he is our resident car mover but he is out of the game at the moment unfortunately.

I use Beeches Recovery here in Brum and they do country wide stuff. Give them a bell on 0121 344 4644 for a quote. They do loads of yank stuff and if they cant help, they might be able to recommend someone local to you.

They charged me £144 to collect my Fury from Northampton back to Solihull.

On Steve's recommendation I used them too!

£106 for 11 miles when I moved last Feb.........Its more the time than the distance as proved by Steve's quote (differential in price).

You also get to choose covered, or uncovered......I went for the latter and its was a typical AA style car loader!

No complaints from me. Guy dropped it then helped me Bananarama! into the garage (was off the road at the time)!

I'd recommend them, plus they give you an instant phone quote!!!! :thumbright:

I rented a recovery truck myself to pick up the Dart from the docks... Mind you I have no idea what the insurance deal was.... But I drove REALLY slowly. :D truck was only £120

The plus side is that you get to lash the car on... So I was less worried about it coming loose... More about the fact that it only just squeezed on to the platform :D
