Cork Gaskets for carbs

Post by Wolfman »

This may be a stupid question, do you have to use a special cork gasket material for fuel? I need some about 1.2 mm thick and cannot find an automotive one that thickness, just some hobby stuff. If my memory serves me right it has to be a special cork material as I need to make up a float chamber gasket.

That would be a great help,I am trying to help an old lady across the road from me with her old micra and i need to make up a gasket. When i split the carb (the float does not float anymore) the old one broke and no one seems to do that type of thing for old micra's :thumbright:
