Judging by the memories on here, we must be the 'oldest average age' club going (and I include myself in that). Dave's shed story takes me back. My grandad was a very talented cabinet maker (he refitted the Royal coach on the Orient Express). We visited him in Weston Super Mare every two years by coach from Scotland. I spent hours and hours with him in his shed, making things, chatting and just generally enjoying his company. He was a true gentleman and I miss him very much. His shed smelt of old woodworking tools and oil etc. I have his toolkits and every time I open them, the smell reminds me of my time with my grandad.

Incidentally, when i visited one time around 1976, I noticed all the clocks were turned around in his house. He told me he turned them around the day he retired. He had spent 50 years being ruled by the clock and refused to in his retirement. He still got up at 530am every day though, clock or no clock

I was into matchbox superfast and the loop set as a kid.

The Superfast Challenger Revin' Rebel was the coolest of the lot.

I've end up buying big versions of my favourite toy cars.

I used to have a Pink Panther car back then. I think I gave it to our next-door neighbor as a remembrance before we moved to Florida.
