Ungrateful crash people rant

Post by Dart Vader »

About an hour ago M6 northbound near Sandbach services a caravan overturns 100 yards in front of me and missus

We stop and I run to the car. Switch off engine of the hilux bloke driving is having an epileptic fit. No seat belt on, in fact he's sat on it.

Out of the car gets another 2 women and 4 small kids around 8. None had belts on

The kids are clearly scared and running around the carriageway luckily the traffic on our side had stopped. I'm trying to herd them together to the hard shoulder. The two women do nothing. My wife is looking after the bloke fitting. The women still do nothing but take photos on their phone and ring their traveller friends from the camp near the services.

Police turn up at the same time as two other travellers hop over the fence. Police are now looking after the bloke. Fella 1 tries to tell police his mate was just shook up and it wasn't a seizure. Fella 2 tells the women to say they weren't in the car just the kids. I over hear it and mention it loudly to police that the women and 4 kids were in it. Cue load of abuse from man 2. Other helpers back me up. Cue abuse and threats.

Police then do a check on driver. No license as medically banned. No insurance either.

Caravan stinks of weed as does car

Women do nothing but shout at the helpers now

We leave our detail with police and leave just as it was about to kick off between men 1 and 2 and the police.

Can't help some people can you......but most of all how stupid, selfish and irresponsible for driving when he shouldn't.

They are a much maligned ethnic minority and only a very few are a problem apparently. Clearly they get about a bit as they are the only ones I ever meet....

No good deed goes unpunished, eh?
Good on you for stopping, though. So many people just look on by when there's folk that need a hand. :thumbright:

Pity the thousands of people who had their trip interupted due to the M6 closure (even for a short period).

Thousands delayed, tens of thousands impacted (missed appointments, family events missed etc etc).

All from one pointless event. Good work that you stopped though - I've become hardened to delays - I'd probably have tried to get round before the road was shut by the police!

You did your bit so can sleep well at night matey! Good on you as that's what makes the difference and gives us all faith in people

I love nothing more on a sunny day when Im off in the week than cruising down to Edgbaston Reservoir in Brum (via McDonalds for a black coffee of course). Park the car up, spend half an hour chatting to people about it then walk a couple of laps around the 1 1/2 mile circumference before cruising home with a big smile. Until last week when our traveller friends took over a huge carpark adjacent to the reservoir and on waterways land. All of the public carpark gates now locked so I cant get my car in to the parking area. Local crime rate has gone through the roof, and sure they will go out with a bang before being moved on...great
