17" tyre size????

Post by 68Runner »

Hi

Just thought I'd ask what people are using for 17"

Had 275/60/15 on the rear before and have been trying to find something similar in tyre height.
Looked on the chart and is says 275/50/17, but I can't seem to find any. Nearest I can find to the height of the 15's is 255/55/17. I just fancied the same width before as they will be going on a 17x9.5" rim. Didn't want it to look lost in the wheel arch of the Plymouth.
Cheers

Hi Ralph - you could ask Hughesy (aka Steve) - he's just fitted some 17" 'magnums' to his 69 'runner.

The tyres look quite a low profile but I think he said they have the same O/D as the 15"ers that were on there, so wont affect the speedo gearing...

That looks good though. Reckon they are 40 profile on the back and don't look odd in the arch.

Cheers for that.

Looking at the green RR they look like 40 profile.
