Would it not be possible to have a machine shop drill the halfshafts you already have at the new PCD 36 degrees further round than the current holes, fit new studs and then drill matching holes in your drum cover to match?

You can, and I've had that done in the past, gets very close to the edge of the flange though, might want to keep with 7/16" studs if going that route.

One option might simply be to do nothing at the rear and run with two PCD's this season and tackle the axle next year?

If you had, for example, steelies with centre caps noone would be able to tell.

This

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Valiant-Comp ... SwARZXifAa

gets you disk stubs
VJ-VK girlock slider calipers and brackets

you would need new rotors and hubs or you could get them drilled inbetween for 5 on 4 inch PCD.

rotors

should fit with your wheels

always a risk they won't but they should
