They do some good parts if your not bothered about it being identical to the original.

why are you looking to replace?

The fuse box is usual attached to the dash harness.

There a few different one. It depends whether you have a oil light or gauge

Fuse box

Post by 57 Stu »

Hi,thanks for reply, not to worried about original as my car is a superbird clone! Took it into an auto electrician the other day as kept blowing fuse, on inspection back of box is melted. They told me to get a box and they would fit, I know nothing about electrics but is there any difference in fitting a universal fuse box other than the shape ? Thanks for your help Stu

You can fit a universal fuse box closer to the steering column. Any 6 or 8 gang fuse box will work and you will need to swap all the wiring over and match the fuse amperage's

might be worth going through all the wiring if its all original than its worth the investment replacing it all..

If the fuse boix has melted I would be looking to check the bulkhead connector as well. Common problem as all the power goes through there to the ammeter and back out.
There have been many fires and loom meltdowns from this.

Steve did a great article on here about bypassing it. Not hard to do, even I managed it.

I`ve just done the same thing on the GTX, replaced the engine bay loom, after the bulkhead disconnect burnt out on the charge circuit, no fire luckily, bypassed the Amp meter and fitted a Volt meter...............much safer :thumbright: :thumbright: :thumbright:
