sorry chaps what i meant was the radial movement at the steering wheel on my 68 charger.

looking at the video clip it appears that the P/S box is the problem and not the steering coupler.

Looking through this thread (as I have just acquired a s/h power steering box & pump for my 68 Charger, etc) I notice you mention a shorter coupling is required when converting? I can't seem to find any parts on the internet / google for a power steering pot coupler or is it something completely different that I am looking for? Cheers.....

Mancini racing sell the adaptors to convert from power to manual steering. I think I'm right in saying that a manual steering column is longer than a power steering one. If you're converting from manual steering to power steering you'll either need a power steering column or have to shorten the manual column to fit!

yes power box is taller

i think you only need to swap the steering centre shaft.

however i don't know if there are other differences in them related to steering lock, position of grooves for clips and stuff to do with the shift mechanisms for column mounted shifters...

but it really is just the shaft in the middle you need.

put narrower wheels on
swap 24:1 to 20:1 ratio manual box (weekend job)
set positive castor not much but just enough to self right the steering after a turn

just kinda works...

i went for 16:1 but i'd only do that in a A body with a light motor

its heavy enough but nice and direct.
