That's Karma for ya

Post by Derek »

Some of you will remeber this car from Brooklands, the owner and car is what got us Banned from Brooklands for 2 years, they say karma is a great thing and I think they're right. He even has the cheek to make the burnout his profile pic, he's a Bananarama! Bananarama!.

Found on Facebook an image - It looked like it was a good burnout, wrong place and time to do it though perhaps.

There was a sign less than 6 feet away from him saying NO BURNOUTS, just show how much he cared.

As Stu eluded to, with his :-# this news does resonate with us a bit, and does not come totally as a surprise, as we were told about this a couple of months ago by a mutual acquaintance. Apparently this was caused by aquaplaning, which could happen to anyone, but I wouldn’t be surprised to hear matey was in full-hoon mood when he hit the puddle!
This chap not only kept our beloved club away from Brooklands for a couple for years but was the main reason our beloved Sport Satellite sat in Stu’s garage for about 2 years, waiting to have an engine problem investigated.
The common factor between us and Pat is that we have recently used the same engine builder and unfortunately both of Pat’s cars (the Chrysler and Cobra) took up all of the available garage space right at the time we wanted him to investigate a smoking problem our engine had developed. So we had to wait a few months… then a few more… because of problems with the Chrysler’s engine wiring/mapping etc.
To cut a long and frustrating story short, we decided to go with a Koffel ‘crate’ motor, after some preliminary checking on our smoky engine, so we may turn out to be grateful to Pat that we ended up going this route, but it would have been nice to have been at this stage at least 2 years ago, which we would have been if it weren’t for him!
