Modified cars are almost always worth less than stock for some reason. Can't see it finding a buyer in the UK for anything like that price.

Re: oz charger for sale
Always liked the car but i think £17k is a difficult number. Quite a few cars available around that price point which would probably top it.
Not up on Aussie prices, but do stock running cars command mid to high teens these days?

Re: oz charger for sale
stock aussie chargers will go for $30K-$40K in Oz
over here its luck. a 440 charger and a 440 dart are going to handle much the same.
By putting a 440 in it, you have focused it more on the drag strip which is what a lot of people fancy, BUT the beauty of the charger, in my mind, is really that it is a chuckable mopar, and without the investment of everything hotchkiss have in their catalogue in the running gear department.
Its more ford escort or cortina handling wise than nose heavy boat
a six cylinder charger and a 318 dart, the six will always handle better. its lighter wider and shorter than the dart and is in theory stiffer due to the torque boxes and bits welded into various Right angles of the brackets that hold the suspension on.
so in this case it comes down to what it looks like. and as they never raced a charger here and the only people who know what they are are people who either were introduced to them in Oz or remember the 200 or so that came in New. The number of people who know what it is and want one is quite small
so sale is squarely based on focusing on people who have no idea what it is and just like the look of it....
and on that front 7 litres wedged in up front probably adds points
and i must admit there are plenty of those people, just most of them don't want to buy one at the mo.
but you just need one....

Dave,
You as always have put it very succinctly on paper (well online). It sounds and no doubt is a beast and handful.
I have a close to stock VJ, this one was a nearly buy back when it was originally for sale' but scared the hell out of me as a driver, maybe not so much now, but I like to do a few miles per year on mine (c. 5'000+), and dread to think the damage to my wallet to do the same in this one.
