Powersteering leak/fix

Post by charger01 »

So... In my quest to fit powersteering to the Fury I found I had a leak on the output shaft to the column. I got hold of some seals off Mark at Wasp. (Great service) I removed the link & with a 6mm steel bit I drilled through the old seal then screwed in a self tapper. With the help of a jemmy I pryed the old one out. New one went in ok. Lubed it first then drove it home with a long socket.

What a terrific way to pull that pesky seal out Adrian=nice one, one more thing would have made it a top notch install ;) you should have cut up an old coke can or similar and wrapped it around the splines and just over the shoulder on the land that the seal works on that way no danger of hurting the new seal,, but toot sweet mucker,,

New seal is solid mate. Lubed it all before and it slipped in like an old kipper. Just thought I would post up some pictures to show how easy it is to do this stuff yourself.
