Anyone have any info on this?

Post by Blue »

Just found this photo on Facebook, looks to be a '68 Roadrunner taken in the '70"s in Blackpool. Anyone know anything about it?

Well, its very surprising this has not been talked about before, I suspect that is probably late 60,s and the runner not very old so the story never leaked out to Tony o, Jim Wilson, R runner etc as even that was before there time, and the picture taken by some one with no interest in the subject matter just the event so it has never crossed over in to our world before,

Yes aftermarket wheel. Someone in your neck of the woods must know Dunc, wouldn't have been owned by joe average it would be someone with money like a bookie or local villain I reckon.

I love old pics like this, we have loads at work, which are great when you look back on them 20 or more years later.

I've posted this before but I still love it. Breakspear Motorway Post at jct 8 of the M1.

We are very close with the Blackpool lads, Malc Hudson is restoring his 68 Charger in our workshop. I asked him this morning did he know of a RR crash in the late sixties in Blackpool, he looked at me funny and said yes, it was Paul Manders, he still knows him, his mate took it out for a hoon and crashed it. Malc thinks the car was new, he is going to find some more info and let me know :thumbright:

That Fury is the tits Matt, the cops even stood tall with the law n fitted trade plates.. :D :D :D :D wonder if they tried to race it in that 3,500 Rover that's hidin behind it,,

Its crazy really i obv always hated traffic cops as they tried to tame my stupid antics, but looking back they were pretty cool and had some great pursuit cars,,

Nah, that's Paul Mander (singular), and he would have been about 7 when that crash happened!
