help to decode a vin number please

Post by BigRawuk »

Good morning all,

I am hoping to find how I can check a VIN number against a model I'm looking at please. The seller has given me XS29L8B29760 but it seems that I'm struggling with it. Any help would be appreciated for pointers as to where to look please.

Thanks, Rawson

Have they dropped a digit off the end ? I thought 13 was the right length ? https://www.allpar.com/mopar/vin-decoder.html

Assuming they've just dropped a number off the end if you add a 0 then most of the online decoders seem to work:

http://www.mymopar.com/index.php?pid=84

Model: Dodge Charger X
Price Class: Special S
Body Type: 2 door sports hardtop 29
Engine: 440ci V8 4bbl HP (RB motor) L
Year: 1968 8
Assembly Plant: Hamtramck, MI B
Sequence Number: 297600 297600

Thanks Pal,
One for sale in usa and I'm not sure if a scam as sounds too cheap.

All gone quiet now I've asked to arrange an inspection by a legit firm of muscle car inspectors in usa.
Thanks for your help. cvvvvvvvvvvvv
