Bicester Heritage Sunday Scramble ‘DRIVE IT DAY’--28 April 2019

Post by Robert Nauer »

Anyone else planning on heading over to Bicester Heritage on the 28th of April for their Drive It Day? I went last year and they had an excellent turn-out and quite a eclectic mix of classic vehicles and motorcycles located on an old RAF base. Highly recommend it:

Please note, you have to purchase tickets in advance on-line.

Description from the website: "Founded in 2014 the Sunday Scramble began as a ‘cars and coffee’ get together amidst the early stages of our restoration works.Five years on and the Sunday Scramble is an event of national repute, attracting enthusiasts from across the UK and Europe, offering the opportunity to explore the former RAF Bicester base, the restored wartime buildings and the specialists businesses based here.
Held on ‘Drive It Day’ (a national venture championed by the FBHVC to encourage historic vehicle owners to raise awareness of our vast motoring culture by taking their machine for a spin) our April Scramble is historically the busiest of the year at Bicester Heritage. Our former RAF Technical Site springs to life with a unique mix of vehicles brought by enthusiasts from all over the UK to visit this beautiful location. The specialist businesses of Bicester Heritage throw open the doors to their workshops, showrooms and offices, revealing an ever-changing display of magnificent vehicles from every decade."

I’ll try and make this. Do you need to be part of a club to display your car?

Thanks for the info. Sounds a good day out. I’ll drop the wife off a Bicester Village then and get some peace and quiet.

There's also the AACI open nationals at Billing Aquadrome Friday 26th - 28th April always a good event and turnout of American Classics. I will probably go Saturday and Bicester on Sunday.
