Jeep Wrangler TJ

Post by ChrisN34 » Wed May 15, 19 10:44 pm

Been on the search for a new car for a while, anybody know of any decently clean wranglers, i'd like a YJ, but too old and too much rust would mean second project rather than a reliable daily driver. Looking for a TJ (the later year the better something like a 2003-06 model), manual, Hard top, carpeted and without the hideous zig zag seats.

Cheers

If you get a TJ, make sure you get the 4.0, not the 2.5.

But if you want a daily driver, I'd strongly recommend stepping up to a JK. Much more civilised, and 30mpg if you get the CRD. You can get them as a 2 door, if that's your preference, but they ride like a space hopper. Here's mine...

Great comment, Adam!

I describe my 5.7 Hemi Durango as a Ballet-Dancing Hippo!!!

It can pull a house down but cannot pass a gas station.....or negotiate a bend...

With the ULEZ kicking in in London you will start to see ALOT of diesels flooding the market... doubtless prices will follow the lack of demand.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, definitely will be going for the 4lr, i know they are more suited for offroading, but i do need to occasionally use the motorway, i want to know that i can, from all accounts, the 2.5 is worthless for that.

I Had looked at the JK, and the diesel models, but they are just out of my price range, and i much prefer the look of the TJ.
