Valve stem seals

Hi need a bit of guidance, I'm in the process of rebuilding my 273LA.
After lapping the valves, I was reassembling the stem seals and this is where I'm a bit confused. The inlet seals fitted in a manner I'm used to but the exhaust seal just seems to sit there above the guide with no positive way to secure it and slides up and down a little with the valve...is this okay? I've tried searching the Web but drawing a blank.

TIA
Cheers Dave

Cheers Dave, thought that was the case :thumbright:

Unfortunately I'm a seal short either the kit had 1 missing, unlikely or I've dropped 1 somewhere, most likely. Had a good look around the garage but no joy so have had to order another kit.

Cheers lads, never occurred to me to ask through the club and I ordered a set from US Automotive which arrived today.
