To my knowledge no A body Barracuda has never ever sold over here more than 16k and that was at the height years ago. It comes back again to A bodies not having a strong following in the UK, their maximum price is held by the bottom of the B & E market because that's what most people really want. You do of course get the odd blip like that godawful convertible, and yes there might be that one person that prizes them enough(like me) that might pay 25k for a really nice one but I think it's unlikely.

I guess we'll see what this black one sold for. Would be nice to think they are getting more respect these days.

Their time is certainly overdue, they have been undervalued in the UK for ever IMO. It seems even the C body market has eclipsed them these days and 15 years ago you couldn't give those away!

I dont get the current C Body fad either. A C Body wagon maybe? If the stigma of owning a Barge is over then surely an A Bodies is as well? :D

This is the crazy thing, you'd think in the UK A bodies would be popular because they fit in a council lock up, you can park and drive them in narrow streets and they are all round the most usable of all the Mopars. But I'm biased, I've always owned them and I don't aspire to anything else.

Agree Blue, Had a GTX until we got married in the 90s. Still miss that car but with power steering it waivered all over the place. Anyway it wouldn't fit up the lane where i keep the Dart. Even though it's not the original engine 383 but a lovely 340, it drives and handles really well and no shortage of grunt. Only one person has ever known what it is, a taxi driver, was thinking of mounting this on the car. What do you think? :D

totally agree with Blue I think A bodies are very good for UK as size is just right for roads and garages here.

I always wanted a Road Runner 73, but when I had my 68 Cadillac Fleetwood I realised that driving these big boats here is big issue on smaller A or B roads.

So when I was looking/able to get into MOPARS, I measured my garage size and that is how I ended up with my 68 Barracuda :)

and I am so pleased with her, compare to all the other American cars I have had, that I would not change it now, it is a keeper for now, as long as I can drive her.

I can see now in US the price for a good A body, specially the 2nd gen Barracudas are going up and up as people can not afford the B and E bodies.

Mind I would have a 70 Barracuda in the same condition as my 68 Barracuda for the same price and engine (340) if anyone has one??

I have in the Dart Cadboy. Always fancied a 408 stroker. Getting a bit old now so may not happen.

yes I think 340 engine is best, it was on my list when I was searching for A body, and glad I found one with a 340 :)

I still haven't seen this car in the flesh because its at work and I'm on furlough at the moment :(
Apparently its a nice clean looking car,has a few issues leaking heater matrix,no thermostat and a electric fan that has been wired to run constantly.
I will post some pics when i go back, hopefully in the next couple of weeks. some excellent info thanks guys.
