What Is This?

Someone will know....found on the site of an ex WW2 Airfield near to a decontamination building. Painted white, very heavy, about 12" long..... any ideas aircraft buffs?

look like a tent peg for one of them big marquees like wot they have at the Bug Jam.

I believe its called a dog ,and was either built or cut into brickwork to hook a ladder over .
