Looking for the best place for cooling hoses. No one seems to have easy to browse websites to figure what I need. Top / Bottom hose for 360 with aftermarket ally champion rad, also bypass hose.

Fed up of chasing overheating issues and worrying about it when I’m out, so also interested in advice on best brands. Replaced damn near everything so running out of heart.

Rock auto, standard moulded hoses for the car with a 360 will work. I don't have a favourite make, just avoid the corrugated style.

Not a fan at all of the corrugated ones, so they definitely aren’t on the cards

Do you have any strong opinions on thermostats, Blue?

Got a 195 in it at the moment, which I believe is correct for the engine, but always just feels / smells hot. Also when I turn it off it always gets way hot before it starts to cool. Couple that with the fact that it’s a Bananarama! to start when hot and I was considering a lower temp thermostat.

Whole cooling system is getting me down now.

You need a cooler stat, 180 to 185 is the ideal temp. I prefer the high flow Mr Gasket ones. I like to use a coolent recovery tank to ensure the radiator is free of air. What fan do you have and what’s your initial timing set at?

Viscous fan, can’t remember if timing was 4 or 6 before tdc

Ok, you need more initial timing that's not enough for modern pump swill, that's one reason for it running hot.

Looks like I have some reading to do. Any suggestions?

Cheers Blue. Where do you buy your thermostats from? Can’t seem to find them UK or rock Auto.

Intrigued that they are recommended for hi rev applications.

John Woolfe Racing have some 180 Degree High Flow Stats....

You need to set the All in Timing first and then work back to see what initial timing you have.

Aim for 34 degrees all in timing, Vac off....

Their distributor limit plate is the easiest way to stop the standard Mopar distributor from over advancing once you've cranked up the initial timing,
