Last Saturday at JC's...

Stu and I popped down to JC Auto Refinishing on Saturday morning... first time in a couple of years
It was great to see John and the regulars there - Andy (R.Runner on here), Steve (Hughesy on here), Neil Crozier, Nick... etc

There were still a few familiar cars from a couple of years ago (2x 69 Chargers, convertible Coronet and a 66/67 Chevelle nearing completion) which I didn't take pics of but there were a few more new (to us) projects that JC gave an update on that I did take pics of...

JC's shop truck. It was close to getting painted last time we were there but has since taken a different direction, with the running gear from his wrecked Imperial now installed (440, 727, 8¾) to replace the previous SBC running gear. Should be a stunner when finished in plum crazy with Mod-top vinyl... I sh 1 t you not :)

70 Charger, latest project by Chris and Jake Witor.
Don't worry, I did ask if it was ok to include these and thankfully they were more than happy, thanks guys :thumbright:
In for extensive rust removal (ie nearly all new panels) and engine bay mods to accept a Gen III hemi  8-)

Lovely looking Merak. Even though there was a strong whiff of Citroen about them.

Forgot to say, he's got ten 20 ft shipping containers in the car park now so I expect it was in one of them ;)

Cant believe it's been 8 months since we last visited John and the guys on a Saturday morning :? Good to catch up with John, Andy, Steve and Neil, drink tea, eat cakes and sausage rolls and generally talk tosh for a few hours

A few interesting jobs going thru the workshop too, in particular a 70 R/T SE plum-crazy Challenger that needs, erm, a few odd jobs to get it back to its former glory after being parked on grass for the last 30-odd years

Now that's what I call a professional set up. Clean, tidy and organised. Some absolutely stunning work going on there as always and your cars are looking great! Looks like a fantastic visit. Thanks for the photos

Cheers Steve :thumbright:

Thanks Steve, there's a few longer-term jobs there but there's always a few interesting new jobs when we go, like that Mercedes Ponton and the green 911 getting a retro makeover.
We should go more often but life has a habit of getting in the way on Saturday mornings (for those of us still working ;) ) It's only about 55 miles from me and an extra 20 for Stu but with the bulk of the journey being on the M25 it can be a slow slog back on a Saturday afternoon
Case in point... this most recent trip, leaving there at 1.30pm, took 30 mins longer to get back to my place than it did to get to JC's , thanks to Saturday afternoon traffic on the M25, then Stu had to take a detour that added another 30 mins to his journey home from mine, so took about 3½ hrs to do about 75 miles  #-o
And all at less than 10mpg and £1.80ish per litre

Indeed! They don't make rear tyres like that any more! :salute: :notworthy:
