What can I say, It was one of their busiest days for a very long time, I was told by the events manger that there was over 4,500 people and 400 cars only beaten by New Year day.

I got there around 8.30am and buzzed the gate to be let in, me, my Daughter Karen and my Grandson Charlie were there early to set up the gazebo and flags and to Marshall until all our Mopar group were in place, when the gate open to let us in cars that were already waiting to get it started to follow which didn't go down to well with Brooklands so I had the job of telling them to stay put and wait, one gut started shouting at me that he wasn't waiting until 10am, so I put him in his place and told him Bananarama! off and go home and not to speak to me like that if he didn't want to wait.

Gates were due to be open at 10am but by 9am they had to open up at there were two lanes of cars going back to the road.

It was hectic for the first hour or so them it slowed down until around midday, I'm sorry to say but Brooklands marshalls were useless to say the least, they just seamed to be sending anything anywhere even though there were designated space for a few clubs.

We had 35 Mopar booked for our club stand an 33 showed up so trhat was great, so many people said how impressive our cars looked all together and I must saiy id did.

A couple of people that I spoke to said they were going to join the MMA, one was a guy call Simon who said he and TonyO went back a long way but he had been out of the scene for some time and had only just heard about Tony.

I was great seeing so many old and new friends and so many fantastic cars, JC told me it was the first time in two years that his Superbird had been out :D , Martin told me he has so more stories to tell us so I look forward to reading them all :thumbright: .

I was allowed to go up on the the finnishing straight tower to get some pics :D but not before I was told how to walk up and down the stairs, ( health and saftey  ) I could go on and onbut I won't, enjoy the pics from a FANTASIC day.

Brilliant day Del,
Thanks to you and your family for all your hard work keeping things organised, it’s much appreciated. Glorious weather and a great turnout, it was good to catch up with everyone.
Martin.

Great pics. It's a shame you had some aggro first thing, I swear a lot of people wake up in the morning looking for an argument!
