About time for an update, I reckon!

Transmission is coming on beautifully, but not in my workshop for this bit. Photo’s courtesy of Blue Automotive. ;) :thumbright:

What’s it like…

Set out today to get three specific jobs done, tried to open the passenger door and couldn’t get in.

So after I stripped and sorted the door, I just about had enough time to do a bit of mocking up for a fuel pressure gauge.

Problem on this car is that the only place to mount it is the bonnet, as the hood comes up over the cowl. I don’t want to drill the hood, so an idea that came up in conversation yesterday caused me to try and mount it on the hood grille. As luck would have it, the bracket perfectly bridges into the right gaps, so thinking if I fab up a clamp for the bracket, it might work. :-k

Couple of other ideas in the pipe, but at least I know that could work.

Not sure how to route the line without drilling, if I go this route, though.

A copper line should fit through one of the vents I would have thought, anchor that under the bonnet and adapt to -3 line from there to the carb to allow for movement.

And as a bonus, it looks like the gauge won't break the windscreen when you open the hood!
:D
Unless it goes over vertical.

 Already checked that and it’s definitely clear. ;)

Unless it does go vertical, in which case I reckon the gauge is the least of my worries! :D

Lovely. I like the index paint on the flexplate. Save a lot of frustration down the line🙂

Dear Santa, please can I have a fan shroud for Christmas?

I have no idea how I still have all my fingers left, just doing some jobs and got 3 of them battered by the fan, thank God only on tickover.

Stay safe, Mopals! Ouch-ouch, over and out for 2022 me-thinks… :pale:
