Are they actually through holes/ports? Not likely to be Npt if not a port. Don't look like it to me, if they're not you could just push a blanking plug in or just fit a shorter bolt.

Those look like blind mounting bosses to me, if they are not open at the bottom you don’t need anything in them.

Thanks both. Yes, should have said they are blind, but where the bolts have been whacked in it looks Bananarama! when they are removed, where it’s been bashed about, so just wanted to plug them to cap the top off really.
I’ve found what I need on Spaulding Fasteners site, so all good now.

Some short flange head bolts would do the trick.

I can’t claim any credit for this latest leap forward, very grateful to my good pal Mr P and his lad Ty for furthering the prep on the engine bay!

Cheers Dave
Going to take it back over later to try again, but think it’s abandon MOCGB test day plan now and focus on getting it right.
In other news, the Frosts Stripping Gel seemed to work much better than Nitromors, despite looking identical. Bubbled the paint on the filter hat almost instantly and came off no problem.
Back from holidays, so will see what the weekend brings.
Didn’t quite match. Very close, but not quite.

It will interesting to see if the Stripping Gel works well under hood and on the firewall, as that is usually a pig of a job....

Shame if you miss the Mustang day, not sure I’ll have parts by then either. Always better to get it right rather than hit a deadline IMO.

Re: Floyd Brothers 70 Challenger
Not a Hope in hell of hitting the Mustang day, Blue, but I’ll be there anyway as I’ve booked the day off.
Realising how much there is to do now and hit issues with paint today, having gone to a second place that couldn’t match it either. They can get close and then tint to match by eye, but the whole lot will need doing at some point, so would have the same ball ache every time. I’ve come away to have a think, but at this stage I’m thinking of getting the closest possible match with a standard paint code I can and then use that for under the hood for now. That way , when I need more at least I can just go get some.
The reality is, the more I check, the more I realise it’s different all over when you compare samples to it. Different levels of prep, oxidisation, primers or bases, thickness of paint, it’s all there.
Feeling pretty downhearted tonight, but will see.
Deadlines removed.

Re: Floyd Brothers 70 Challenger
When I got the '57 Painted, I deliberately picked a "Standard" colour that could be replicated more easily.
You cannot win for the reasons you mentioned and then the paint will fade over time, but I thought at least it would give me a fighting chance...

Re: Floyd Brothers 70 Challenger
Get the best match you can and go with that, it doesn’t need to be a perfect match in the engine bay it will still look fine.
