Accident that wasn't your fault?
I was sideswiped in my '71 Challenger on Sept 4th, the other party admitted liability and I have dash cam proof it was entirely their fault. I just wanted to see what experience other people on here have had when claiming through Brentacre if at all. I am not dissing Brentacre at all but the solicitors they put me on to have left a lot to be desired. Has anyone else had this experience? I am seven months in with no sign of resolution yet and am losing the will...(and missing driving it)

That does not sound good to be still waiting for settlement after 7 months when the other side has already accepted liability.
Luckily I have had no such wait, the only time I had to get insurance payment was when I had to claim for the car as it was too expensive to repair, and that was settled very quick.
Good luck

When you say Brentacre have put you on to the solicitors, have you contacted Brentacre since? If you are getting no joy from the solicitors after this amount of time on an open and shut case, I think I’d be going back to the insurers to get them to raise some hell, if you haven’t already. It’s them you’ve been paying and their responsibility to sort it out, not just pass it to you to deal with a third party.
Good luck, sounds like it’s been a nightmare.

24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence? I think not…

Yes I have been involving Brentacre and to their credit they have tried, Solicitors have given them the run around too on one occasion. I just wondered how common this is, One junior clerk even called it a classical car I just don't think they are any good for classic car claims where me the owner wants it to go to be repaired by someone I want to do it. I am getting quite a file to pass on to the ombudsman so we will see what happens. The solicitor's have already tried to fob me off with some cash for their mishandling of the caseStu wrote: ↑Mon Apr 24, 23 8:19 am When you say Brentacre have put you on to the solicitors, have you contacted Brentacre since? Sorry to hear this.
Karen has had a similar experience with her insurance company recently. 5 months of being given the runaround.
Raising a formal complaint with them resulted in immediate action! I always find that it works wonders.

It may be worth contacting some other solicitors (who may advertise that they specialise in motor claims) and asking if they have experience in such cases - since I believe you are entitled to ask your insurers to engage a solicitor that you specify, not just the (probably cheapest) firm that they prefer. Good luck.
