These cars are impressive, 9.10 @ 148 for the big block record and 10.34 @ 130 for the small block.

Agreed, love the FAST series.
One of my favourite cars is Dudek's RR. Maybe not the fastest in class but stunning.

He sold the RR and now campaigns a '71 Cuda, again black. He was making his first passes in it at the same meeting after a new engine combo, 9.80's @ 143. More to come, it's reputedly over 1000hp. I don't know the exact size but they are restricted to 560ci.
Wish I new all the tricks they are using, below was posted up on one of the pages a while ago, I'm pretty sure it was a joke :D

The Penningtons 'Vettes (and Camaro) seem to be the ones to beat. I wish I new exactly what they did to these things to make them run so quick, obviously they aren't giving all of the secrets away over the internet :D but there is some stuff about what they do to the tyres on You Tube, which was interesting. They also use some sort of traction control but I haven't found what sort, guessing it some sort of timing / slew control.

I've been trying to find out for years what tricks they are using but nobody is saying anything. They are clearly far from stock that's for sure.

They are certainly reproducing stock looking parts in lighter materials for a start and using some form of traction control. No doubt weight distribution is also much better than stock. The aluminium engined Chevies have at least a 100lb front end weight advantage which is going to be very hard to beat with an iron engine.

Surprised they allow rim screws, thought these cars had to look totally stock? I notice the Nova has an aftermarket shifter and Cal tracks as well?

It's all kicking off on F/Book with the corvettes holding the top places. A lot of folk consider them to be a "sports car" rather than a Muscle car and argue that the Cobra should therefore be included. A lot of chevy owners are taking the opportunity to stick the boot in whilst they are on top :)
Also noticed a lot of confusion between the "factory stock" and "factory appearing stock tyre" classes :D
