If you are going to run it at the track, you want the correct gear for the tyre size, if you have too much gear, you will have the valves coming through the bonnet at the big end.

Do the bits that will give you the most for the least first and on that little list electronic ignition would be the first.

Where's the sence thinking about a diff with a bigger gear if you're still on points, I take it it's still on points?

The convertor, gear and tyre need to match the cam, the cam needs to work with the rest of the motor, the motor also needs to stay in one peice

Points are out dated but my old 440 Scamp ran high 12's with points ignition on a virtually stock motor.
Duncan had some pumpkins for sale not long ago.

Yorkie. You can't really truely spec a cam from a "top end down" inspection, as far as I know..................(Shoot me down, boys!)

You can Kev. You need the intake off, a degree wheel, dial gauge, and a lot of patience.
