Cheers for those pics. I'm hoping to tackle this in the next couple of weeks and I think the hood, fenders and upper cowl are coming off.

Thanks for all replies.
It's the area where the wiper pivots mount. I think the upper cowl is welded to the lower cowl. From what I've managed to find out, the commonest method for getting to it is either under the dash, which is no good because on the drivers side the tin worm extends quite a long ...

B body lower cowl

Hi all
I need to repair the lower cowl panel on my 65 Coronet, around the area where the wiper mechanism pivots. Both sides need doing although the drivers side is worse.
I assume that I'll need to remove the bumper, wings and bonnet.
Am I right in thinking that the upper cowl is welded to the lower ...

It's a '65 Coronet. I think it is a horn relay but it sure ain't wired like one.
I've now also found a modern five pin relay spliced into just about everything including the original type horn relay, the MSD box and the alternator, I think.
Doing a drawing on the weekend for referral but I'm ...

Thanks for the reply. Very interesting reading. I'm going to read again tomorrow as I have now unwrapped the entire front loom and exposed many horrors, including some fused wires and more crimp connectors than you'd think possible.
I've also got a digital dash so I'll check all is well with that ...

Rats nest wiring #2

following on from previous....
None of these are alternator regulators. Do I need one?
I also have a wire running from the back of the dash somewhere (digital dash) to a spade connector on the bottom of the MSD. Any idea what this is?
Thanks all
Les

Rats nest wiring #1

In my quest to trace the wiring for my horn, I made the mistake of having a look at the rest of the front harness. OMG, what a mess.
I'm trying to unravel what's there and what's not there.
Need some help identifying some parts. The lighting harness was totally frazzled and melted together in one ...

Thanks for the offer. I kind of like this one to be honest. I just need to figure out which contact ring and springs I need.
Carry on trawling the net...

Trick to posting pictures???

What's the trick with posting pictures on posts? No way I can get a JPEG under 256kb. Mine are 3MB.
Thanks

You'll all be pleased to hear that the Camaro will be reborn.
The worst bit was that the top of the battery burnt off and sprayed acid all over the place, including me, while I was trying to put the fire out with a dust sheet that caught alight.
I can laugh about now.....on good days.
Hot melted ...

Cheers chaps. Fluid is black but seems very thin to me.
I'm in Thundersley near Rayleigh.
I think I'll have a poke around and see what the fluids in the engine and box are like for comparison.
The front end has been wound right down so I can't even get my head underneath the sill!

Horn and oil leak

What a great combination.
I've just taken delivery of a '65 Coronet. The friendly MOT man passed it but I have to get the horn working. I've worked out that it's not the right steering wheel and I think it's a '61 to '68 Dodge truck wheel.
I have the horn ring, a wire sticking out and the centre ...

65 Coronet - just joined

Evening all, just thought I'd say hello.
I just got myself a '65 Coronet convertible from the good old USofA and the next logical step was to join MMA.
I've had proper cars for many years now and I have owned my '68 Camaro since 1988. I've been through this car a few times now and just as I was ...
